The Process
1. Selecting Cabinetry

This one-story house is on a slab foundation, and therefore has very little storage space. Part of the inspiration for creating this built-in, is to maximize the space in this house and optimize storage space.
To maximize space, adding cabinetry was the starting point of the design. We knew we wanted open shelving for from a design standpoint, but closed cabinetry as the base made for the best balance of style and function.
We ended up going with Klearview Cabinetry in the style Malmo Suede. This is the best in-store cabinetry that is available on the market and can be purchased in-store and online at Menards.
